JFR was launched in 2005 by Aganorsa Leaf (then known as Casa Fernandez) with a simple goal: bring large ring-gauge cigars to everyday smokers at a price that didn't require a special occasion. The name is short for "Just for Retailers," a nod to the brand's original value-focused positioning.
JFR cigars are built almost entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco grown on Aganorsa's own farms in Estelí and Jalapa, with lines like JFR Lunatic and the JFR 20th Anniversary leaning on Mexican San Andrés maduro wrappers for extra spice and cocoa notes over a Nicaraguan core.
JFR cigars are a solid pick for smokers who want a full-flavored, oversized smoke without paying a boutique premium. Browse our in-stock JFR selection for fast shipping on one of Aganorsa Leaf's best-value lines.

JFR stands for “Just For Retailers,” and that's exactly what it was when Aganorsa Leaf, then still known as Casa Fernandez, introduced it in 2005: a line built exclusively for a handful of brick-and-mortar shops rather than a national release.
It didn't stay exclusive for long. Founder Eduardo Fernandez controls Aganorsa's Nicaraguan tobacco from seed to finished leaf on his own farms in Jalapa and Esteli, which let JFR offer big, oversized ring gauges and pigtail-cap construction at prices well below what that scale of tobacco usually commands.
The Lunatic line, launched in 2015, pushed the format even further with some vitolas topping 70 ring gauge. JFR 20th Anniversary, released in 2025, marked two decades of the brand with a San Andres Maduro wrapper release, right in step with our Maduro Cigars collection.
