Strength Shopping FAQ
What do mild, medium, and full-bodied mean for cigars?
It's a spectrum based mostly on filler tobacco and wrapper leaf. Mild cigars use lighter leaf and less ligero for a smoother, lower-nicotine smoke. Full-bodied cigars use darker, oilier leaf and more ligero for bold flavor and a stronger nicotine kick. Medium and the in-between tiers sit along that same line.
How do I know which strength cigar is right for me?
If you're new to cigars, start mild or mild-medium and work up from there. If you've smoked for a while and want more flavor without overdoing it, medium or medium-full is a natural next step. Take our Cigar Finder Quiz if you'd like a personalized recommendation.
Does a stronger cigar mean a better cigar?
No, strength is a preference, not a quality rating. A well-made mild cigar can be just as complex and enjoyable as a well-made full-bodied one, it's simply a different intensity of flavor and nicotine.
