At Cigar Nation, we believe getting your cigars should be just as satisfying as smoking them: fast, fresh, and frustration-free. Here is everything you need to know about how we get your order from our humidor to your hands.

Shipping Carriers

We have partnered with two trusted carriers, UPS and the United States Postal Service, to ensure your cigars reach you safely and efficiently. Depending on your location and the specifics of your order, Cigar Nation will select the carrier that provides the best combination of speed, reliability, and value for your delivery.

Shipping Rates

Orders containing cigar packs and cigar boxes ship for just $5 with our standard domestic delivery service. Most orders over $85 automatically qualify for free standard shipping.

For larger items like humidors or bulk orders, we will personally reach out to discuss the most economical shipping approach for your specific needs.

Expedited shipping options are available during checkout. If you are ordering accessories without cigars, our standard competitive shipping rates apply. Build your cart, then enter your address and ZIP code at checkout to see your exact shipping price.

Processing Time

Place your order by 3:30 PM Eastern Time on any weekday, and we will have it packed and on its way the same day. Orders received after our cutoff time ship first thing the next business day. During national holidays, our team takes well-deserved time off, and we will always post any shipping schedule changes prominently on our website.

Next-Day Delivery in the Midwest

Because we ship from right here in Columbus, Ohio, customers throughout the Midwest get an extra edge: orders placed by 3:00 PM ET Monday through Thursday typically arrive next day in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and parts of Pennsylvania, at no extra cost. Friday orders, or orders placed after the 3:00 PM cutoff, are not guaranteed next-day delivery.

Tracking and Signature Requirements

Every single shipment includes full tracking information so you can follow your cigars from our door to yours. Most orders arrive without requiring your signature.

Certain orders do require signatures for security reasons, including high-value orders, oversized items like humidors, and exclusive limited-edition releases. If your order requires a signature, Cigar Nation will contact you beforehand to make sure someone will be available to receive your package. Cigar Nation also reserves the right to require an adult signature and valid government-issued photo identification at delivery where required by the laws of the destination state or locality.

How Cigars Are Packaged

Individual cigars are carefully placed in protective zip-lock bags along with Boveda humidity packs to maintain optimal moisture levels throughout their journey. Cigar bundles that do not have individual cellophane wrapping are packaged with Boveda humidity packs to preserve their freshness.

Bundles that come with cellophane wrapping typically ship in their original packaging. If you prefer the added protection of humidity-controlled zip-lock packaging, simply add that request in the Special Instructions section at checkout.

P.O. Boxes

We can ship to P.O. Box addresses using USPS delivery services. UPS cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes with our current shipping methods, so if you select UPS shipping and provide a P.O. Box address, we will need to contact you for an alternative street address. For first-time customers ordering high-value items to P.O. Boxes, we may request a physical street address for delivery as a fraud-prevention step.

APO and FPO Addresses

All APO and FPO addresses receive shipments via USPS Priority Mail service. When placing your order, select "United States" as your country in the shipping address, regardless of where you are stationed overseas. All military addresses automatically receive free shipping, even if the order total is under our usual free shipping threshold.

State Restrictions

We ship to every state where tobacco delivery is legally permitted. Some states have enacted restrictions that prevent us from shipping certain tobacco products:

Complete shipping restrictions: Utah, Hawaii, South Dakota, and Wyoming do not allow cigar shipments.

Partial restrictions by state:

  • Maryland and Washington State prohibit little cigar shipments
  • Massachusetts does not allow flavored tobacco products
  • Maine restricts cigars with homogenized or HTL wrappers, small cigars weighing 3 pounds per 1000 or less, and pipe tobacco
  • Vermont prohibits small cigars weighing 4.5 pounds per 1000 or less
  • Montana does not permit filtered cigar shipments

We stay current with all state and local tobacco shipping regulations to ensure full compliance.

Weekend Delivery

Standard UPS service operates Monday through Friday. Saturday delivery is available through expedited services, but it comes with much higher rates, typically $90 to $100 for smaller orders. Our standard checkout process does not include Saturday delivery options. If you have an urgent need for weekend delivery, email info@cigarnation.com and our team will work with you to explore available options.

International Shipping

Cigar Nation currently ships cigars to Canada. Accessories and gift sets remain US-only for now.

  • Standard, $59 USD: USPS Priority Mail International, 6 to 10 business days, cigars shipped in their original factory boxes.
  • Box-Free, $49 USD: cigars shipped in a sealed humidor bag with a Boveda pack.

Our prices and shipping rates do not include Canadian duties, excise, or GST/HST. Those are assessed by the Canada Border Services Agency and collected on delivery. If a package is returned to us because duties were refused, we will refund the products less a 20% restocking fee, and original shipping is not refundable.

Once a package is handed to the carrier, Cigar Nation is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, seized, or destroyed by customs authorities, and no refund can be issued in those cases.
