🍁 Welcome to the Nation, Canada. 🍁
Great leaves think alike.
We Now Ship Cigars to Canada
Canadian cigar smokers can now order premium cigars online from Cigar Nation and have them shipped from our US humidor to every province and territory. Same catalog, same freshness standards, same care in packing. For now, Canada shipping covers cigars only: accessories and gift sets remain US-only while we build out the rest of the program.
Canada Shipping Options and Rates
Canada Standard, $59 USD: your cigars ship in their original factory packaging, sealed inside heavy-duty resealable bags with humidity control packs, via USPS Priority Mail International, typically arriving in 6 to 10 business days.
Canada Box-Free, $49 USD: we remove the factory boxes and seal your cigars in heavy-duty resealable bags with humidity control packs. Less weight, lower shipping cost, same protection for the journey. If you collect boxes or you're buying a gift, choose Standard.
How We Pack Cigars for the Trip to Canada
Cross-border shipping takes longer than a domestic order, so every Canada shipment gets extra protection. Whether you choose Standard or Box-Free, we seal your cigars in extra-strong, heavy-duty resealable bags with humidity control packs inside. The bags hold in moisture and the packs keep humidity steady, so your cigars arrive in the same condition they left our humidor.
Duties and Taxes on Cigars Shipped to Canada
Straight talk, because we'd rather you know before you order: our prices and shipping rates do not include Canadian duties, excise, or GST/HST. Those are assessed by the Canada Border Services Agency and collected on delivery before your package is released. Canada applies no personal duty-free exemption to tobacco sent by mail or courier, and Canadian tobacco charges are substantial. Depending on your province, the amount collected at your door can approach the value of the cigars themselves.
One important note on the Box-Free option: it saves you money on shipping, not on duties. Canadian duties and excise are assessed on the value of the cigars, not the weight of the parcel, so the amount collected on delivery is the same either way.
The Fine Print
We run international shipping the same way we run everything else: no games.
- Every customs form declares the true contents and true value of your order. Please don't ask us to mark packages as gifts or understate values. We won't.
- You must be of legal age to purchase tobacco in your province to place an order.
- You are responsible for knowing and complying with your country's and province's laws on importing tobacco before you place an order.
- If a package is returned to us because duties were refused, we'll refund the products less a 20% restocking fee. Original shipping is not refundable.
- Once a package is handed to the carrier, Cigar Nation is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, seized, or destroyed by customs authorities, and no refund can be issued in those cases.
