Shop Nub cigars at Cigar Nation, a distinctive format created by Oliva built around an unusually short, thick shape designed to concentrate flavor into a shorter smoking session. Rather than a traditional long-format cigar, Nub cigars are meant to deliver a fuller-bodied experience in roughly a third of the time, without sacrificing the transition and complexity a longer cigar would normally need time to develop.

Nub is available across multiple wrapper options, including Connecticut, Habano, Maduro, and Cameroon, giving smokers a way to compare wrapper influence in a shorter, more direct format. The short burn time makes Nub a practical choice for smokers with limited windows to smoke, without stepping down to a lower-quality cigar just to save time.

Nub cigars are a good fit for anyone who wants real flavor and strength but doesn't always have an hour to spare. Browse our in-stock Nub selection across all four core wrapper types.

Nub exists because of a simple observation about how cigars smoke: flavor tends to build toward a "sweet spot" somewhere in the middle, and by the time a long cigar gets there, you've already spent a good while getting to the good part. Sam Leccia, a former Oliva sales rep, started experimenting with short, thick shapes specifically to see whether that sweet spot could show up almost immediately. Oliva launched the result in 2008.

The mechanics are straightforward once you understand the goal: a Nub packs a lot of tobacco into a short, thick shape, usually about 4 inches long with a ring gauge of 58 to 66. That puts you close to the flavorful middle of a cigar from the first draws, in a smoke that runs about 40 to 50 minutes on the Burn Clock™.

Because the shape reaches full flavor almost immediately, Nub is a useful way to sample wrapper types quickly. The four core options (Connecticut, Habano, Maduro and Cameroon) let you compare wrapper character back to back without committing to four long cigars, and the Nub Variety sampler with cutter puts all four in one box.
