The XK1 angles its jet flame rather than firing it straight up, and that single design choice is why it is easier to use than it looks. You can see the foot of the cigar while you toast it instead of working blind behind the flame, which means fewer scorched wrapper edges.

At 1.5 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches it is genuinely slim, closer to a card than a brick in a pocket. A trap-door style lid covers the burner so lint and debris stay out, and large air intake vents keep it firing reliably. Ignition is a single-action plunger, and both the fuel window and the adjustment wheel are oversized, which sounds minor until you have fought with a tiny flame screw. Altitude tested to 7,000 feet. The fluorescent green makes it very hard to leave behind.
