The name is the recipe. The Blackened S84 Shade to Black by Drew Estate Robusto (5 x 50) puts a light Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over the dark core of the Blackened line: a Connecticut Broadleaf binder with Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf filler, made in Nicaragua.
You get the creaminess of the shade leaf first, then espresso, cocoa and sweet earth from the broadleaf underneath, with a little black pepper on the finish. It sits at a medium body, which makes it the easier of the two Blackened cigars. About 50 minutes, a Power Hour smoke on the Burn Clock.
A robusto for the end of a long day, or for the friend who finds the M81 too much. Pour a bourbon, a stout or a vanilla latte. Boxes of 20. Explore more Drew Estate cigars and Connecticut cigars.
