Liga Privada, which translates to “private blend,” debuted at the 2007 IPCPR trade show in a single size: a 6 by 52 parejo. It was an unusual way to launch a cigar, no fanfare, no full portfolio, just one size built around a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan tobacco pulled from several different farms.

That scarcity became part of the brand's identity. Liga Privada No. 9 sold out almost as fast as Drew Estate could produce it, and the line's reputation only grew from there. In 2015, the Corona Doble size landed at No. 10 on Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of the Year with a 94-point score, cementing Liga Privada as one of the most sought-after non-infused blends the company makes.

T52 followed as a sibling blend, swapping the No. 9's broadleaf for a Connecticut Habano wrapper, while the Unico Serie holds the one-off, single-stick blends that don't belong to either core family.
