Shop cigars for beginners at Cigar Nation, built around three approachable entry points into premium cigars: mild-strength blends, sampler packs, and flavor-infused options. Mild cigars keep nicotine intensity low so you can focus on learning to appreciate draw, burn, and flavor without getting overwhelmed on your first few cigars.
Sampler packs are especially useful if you're not sure what you like yet, since they let you try several different blends, wrappers, or brands in one purchase rather than committing to a full box of something you've never tried. Infused cigars are another common starting point, since their sweeter, more aromatic profile can feel more familiar and approachable than a traditional tobacco-forward blend.
This collection is meant to take the guesswork out of a first purchase. Browse our in-stock beginner-friendly selection across mild blends, samplers, and infused options.

If you're buying your first cigar and don't know where to start, here's the actual decision tree experienced smokers use, not marketing copy. First: strength. Start mild. You cannot accurately judge whether you like a bolder profile until you've learned what a cigar is supposed to taste like at low intensity, jumping straight to a full-bodied cigar as a first smoke is the single most common reason people decide they "don't like cigars" after one bad experience with something too strong for an untrained palate.
Second: format. Buy one cigar, or a small sampler, not a box. You genuinely don't know yet whether you'll enjoy the ritual, the time commitment, or the specific blend, and a box purchase locks you into twenty or more of something you haven't tested. A four or five-cigar sampler from a well-known brand solves this cheaply.
Third: setting. Smoke your first cigar somewhere relaxed with no time pressure, not squeezed into a fifteen-minute break. Rushing a cigar (puffing too fast, which overheats the burn and creates a harsh, bitter taste) is the second most common reason first-timers have a bad experience, and it has nothing to do with the cigar itself.
If flavor is what's holding you back more than strength, an infused cigar (see Flavor-Infused Cigars) softens that barrier with a sweeter, more familiar profile. If you're just not sure what you like yet, a mixed-brand sampler from Cigar Samplers is the lowest-risk way to find out before you commit to anything in bulk.
