Press both side release buttons with your thumb and index finger and the spring-loaded head snaps open to a 64 ring gauge bowl. Drop the cap in and press closed. The blade is inverted, meaning it applies inward pressure on the cap as it cuts rather than pushing outward, which keeps the cap from expanding and splitting. The result is a deep wedge that opens the draw without starting an unravel. Notches in the blade trench let the closed cutter sit as a cigar rest between draws.
