Xikar VX2 V-Cut Cutter - 64 Gauge, Bronze

Bronze is the warmest finish in the VX2 line and the one that ages best on a bar cart. It is a solid metal body underneath, with the same mechanism Xikar puts in every version of this cutter.

Press both side release buttons and the spring-loaded head snaps open to a 64 ring gauge bowl. Drop the cap in and press closed. The inverted stainless blade applies inward pressure as it cuts rather than pushing outward, so the cap stays intact instead of expanding and splitting. You end up with a deep wedge that opens the draw and leaves the wrapper alone. Notches in the blade trench let the closed cutter serve as a cigar rest.
