Xikar VX2 G10 V-Cut Cutter - 64 Gauge, Grey

The Xikar VX2 V-Cut in grey is built around a G10 shell, the same glass-fiber resin laminate used for knife handles and firearm grips. It gives the cutter noticeably more grip than a bare metal body and shrugs off the kind of pocket abuse that scuffs a polished finish.

The mechanism is pure VX2. Press both side release buttons with your thumb and index finger and the spring-loaded head snaps open to a 64 ring gauge bowl. Drop the cap in, press closed, done. The blade is inverted, which means it applies inward pressure on the cap as it cuts instead of pushing outward. That is what keeps the cap from expanding and splitting, and it is why this cutter opens the draw without starting an unravel. The notches machined into the blade trench also let the closed cutter sit as a cigar rest.
