A 70-plus minute Burn Clock™ estimate on a Weekend Warrior cigar usually means you're looking at a Churchill, Gordo, Toro Grande, or Presidente vitola, generally 6 inches or longer with a 50+ ring gauge, since the formula scales smoking time with total tobacco volume rather than length alone. That extra volume changes the smoking experience in a specific way: longer cigars go through more distinct flavor phases as the blend heats up and the burn line moves through different sections of filler tobacco, so a long-format smoke often tastes noticeably different in the first third than the last.
That makes this format a poor choice for a quick break but a strong one for anything where the cigar is meant to anchor the whole occasion rather than fit around it. Golf is the obvious example (a full 18 holes runs close to four hours, so a long cigar can be paced across the entire round without rushing), but the same logic applies to extended card games, fire pits that run past sunset, and celebrations where nobody's watching the clock.
If you're new to this length, start with a Toro Grande before jumping straight to a 7-inch Churchill. Pair with a slower bourbon pour rather than a cocktail, since the drink needs to last as long as the cigar does. For a shorter version of the same intensity, see Power Hour Cigars.
